In-Vitro Fertilization Support

Hello!

You may know me online as "Javanshir" or "beiua", but if you were around even further in the past you'd know that my actual name is Edgar Corona.

I have been with my wife Gabrielle since October of 2007, and we have been married since August of 2012. We recently bought our first home in Southern Oregon; a 3-bedroom home that I have been actively remodeling the interior myself, with aspirations of starting a family. However, it has been evident that we are unable to naturally start our own family...

In 2014, my wife Gabrielle had an ectopic pregnancy. That is, a pregnancy that begins within the fallopian tubes instead of the uterus. This resulted in a very early-stage miscarriage. In 2015, she had an additional ectopic pregnancy, however this pregnancy resulted in the need for emergency surgery. This surgery was when we discovered she had the said miscarriage in 2014---and now both fallopian tubes are scarred shut, and we have been told attempts to "repair" the fallopian tubes is infeasible. She is no longer fertile.

That said, we have been looking at the other options. We spent a weekend taking state-required classes for foster and/or adoption. We looked into adopting an international child. But in the end we still dream of the idea of conceiving our own children... however these are still a fallback plan, just in case.

This is where the "In-Vitro" process comes into play. For those who don't know what In-Vitro is, the simplest way I can describe it is a petri dish baby that is eventually injected for potential implantation.

...if only it were that easy! We recently received our In-Vitro Fertilization schedule, so the ball is now rolling, and it is a daunting process of costly drugs, carefully scheduled to be used for weeks on end along with regular medical consultations at an office that is hours away. We are only able to afford a small handful of these costs, along with the inevitable cost of driving to and from the clinic and missing time from work. I work for Anheuser-Busch and my health insurance does not cover infertility procedures. My wife works in the banking industry and her insurance only covers the consultations.

The nature of using the drugs needed in the In-Vitro process is already scary enough... and to see the costs is even worse! We are both scared but very hopeful. The chances of In-Vitro working as intended is very slim and often requires repeated attempts... but the repeated attempts means higher cost. There may be a point when we run out of funds to try again and simply become hopeless.

I'm not sure how to say this, but we need help. From anyone. Any amount of donations would be beneficial for us, no matter how small. I am reaching out to anyone because we have done everything we can so far. We have a home, careers, family, but no financial assistance for In-Vitro Fertilization procedures.

If anyone can help us in this matter we will be eternally grateful. Our goal is $12,000 because that is the initial quoted amount for a single attempt. Repeated attempts are said to cost less but we are hopeful on a first attempt being successful! But again any amount helps us more than you can imagine. Any questions are welcomed.

Thank you for reading!

[edit 8/5: We learned our insurance covers some of the basic medications such as the birth control required to put her on a more controlled menstrual cycle, and antibiotics we both need to take prior to September. For this among other reasons, the initial quoted amount has been reduced]
