Life Coaching with Female Inmates

I have been volunteering my time to teach yoga (including yoga nidra & meditation) to the women at the Richmond City Jail for the last year with the hope of providing them with a way to increase their self-awareness, undo deeply held tension, and gain a sense of self that is other than what they've experienced potentially throughout their entire lives.
By way of teaching and discussion, I began working with two women who are currently doing a level of inner work that makes them a great fit for 1:1 life coaching. In life coaching, we unearth limiting thoughts and beliefs that quite literally have them stuck, that have shaped all of their decisions and actions leading up to where they are now. We work to undo that thinking and to begin to proactively create tangible steps that help them move closer to the life they hope to have.
In 2016, I donated $5,700 worth of 1:1 life coaching to these two women. It is my wish to be able to continue these sessions with regularity as well as add in additional time for other inmates in 2017.
