Needs of Keeper of the Wild
Spring is our "baby season". It brings in hundreds of orphans. Most are from mothers hit by cars or killed due to human impact. During this time our volunteers work around the clock feeding orphans. We transport to and from our veterinarians, run rescues and handle hundreds of wildlife calls.
For the past 10 years we leased an old Forestry Building owned by the state in St. George, SC. The building and property had not been in use for years. We made repairs the best we could to make it useable. As of August 2015 our lease will be up and we must be off that property.
We continue to rescue, rehabilitate and release our wild babies in need, refusing to turn our backs on them even without a Center, but now the babies are being cared for in our volunteers' homes.
We never gave up that God had a plan for Keeper of the Wild. Out of the blue, Mrs. Mary Julia Royal contacted Janet Kinser, our Director, that she has land she wishes to donate in Walterboro, SC as a permanent home site for Keeper of the Wild.
Now we need a new Center. Buildings are expensive. We continue to pray. In steps a caring, but anonymous supporter who challenges Keeper of the Wild's supporters to raise $20,000 in the month of June. She says if they do, she will add $10,000 to it toward the building of a new Center in Walterboro for Keeper of the Wild.
Now, at June 18, combining our PayPal, GoFundMe, and checks received, with 12 more days to go in June, supporters so far have donated $11,000!
We still need $9,000 more to meet the $20,000 challenge to qualify for the additional $10,000 super bonus toward our badly needed new Center building. If you have not yet responded, please do. If you have, THANK YOU! Please share the news and encourage others to donate.
This is like a$10,000 bonus!! Keeper of the Wild and the wildlife needs your help. We believe we can reach this $20,000 challenge and get the $10,000 bonus to go with it! If you coud hear the stories our volunteers are sharing about babies in cages in their homes everywhere, in living rooms and bathrooms and garages with fans all over, babies in cages in campers outside their homes with A/C running to it, personal refrigerators full of of chopped vegetables and animal food and having to squeeze room for family food. They are all working hard to hang in there for the babies, feeding through the nights, dealing with healthy and not so healthy animals through the good and the bad. We have dedicated, compassionate, and loving volunteers. They want to see these babies back in the wild. Please do what you can for them and our babies that need us. Any amount will help and we desperately need it. It will be appreciated more than you know....
Please think about it a $10,000 bonus is just too easy to get for us to miss out on. Please help us benefit by helping us make $9,000 more to make that $20,000 challenge!
Thank you ! We know we cannot do what we do without YOU!
Janet Kinser, Director
Keeper of the Wild
Right now we have the center and main part of New Center up. We still have to complete the inside and add Phase II, and Phase III, the left and right wings to the Center building. So, we hope you will continue your giving to this Go Fund Me Account to help us reach that goal. We are a small nonprofit, and the care and rehabilitation of our little wild ones in need always come first, but having a fully functioning Center will sure make our mission a whole lot easier. Your donations are tax deductible and we are always ready to send you a thank you letter for your tax purposes. Keeper of the Wild never advocates keeping wild animals as pets. Each one is part of a plan in nature's web of life and intended to do a special job toward helping to keep this earth a balanced and healthy place for all life to live. We believe more often than not, through no fault of their own, humans impact wildlife and need us to step in and help them heal to give them a second chance to fulfill that purpose. We know we could not do what we do without YOU! WE thank you for your interest, for your support and most of all for your donations. You help us to help them.
We thank you , from all of us at Keeper of the Wild for your donations and for making a difference for wildlife!
We are having to order more formula, more feeding syringes, more of everything.... medication for those with pneumonia, more heating pads... cages etc... if you can donate, it will be so appreciated! We hope everyone is safe and if you are traveling please watch for downed trees and flooded areas. Thank you all who have already donated, we appreciate all your support.
We are fortunate to have the public's support with helping us build a new center. We cannot help the wildlife without your help. We have much to do before baby season kicks in, and your donations are making that attainable. Please continue to share for we have buildings to erect, plumbing and electricity to install, and much more! We will also be posting on our facebook page information about our upcoming fund raiser at Magnolia Plantation on February 8th! We hope to see you there!
Try looking for land in Colleton County. Still close to Charleston, but much cheaper.
Ive been praying for KOW for quite a while and have dear friends involved and GOD is involved and he will make sure this is all works out perfectly! All good things come together for the who love the Lord!
I would like to thank everybody who has generously donated to Keeper of the Wild. Please continue to share and help us get the word out to the public.
Please give whatever amount you're able to, no matter how small the amount. Every little bit helps !
I'm not one to post every little thing on FB - but this is so important. Our wildlife are important to us, our children, grandchildren and beyond. A future without nature and all its creatures will not include us either. Keeper of the Wild needs your help to raise money for a new location. The state won't renew their lease after ten years - they have something better to do with 5 acres? HUH? REALLY?!!!
