Humanist Fire Ants
Since the four volunteer organisations I attempted to join were full to capacity of volunteers to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, I have decided to create my own volunteer group (Humanist Fire Ants) to help where help is needed. I've been seeing that there are places aside from Houston that still need lots of help, and have not yet received much attention, such as La Grange, Beaumont, and Port Arthur, Texas.
This team will work all day wherever we are needed and would like to receive donations to help with food and water for the volunteers, and the victim's very specific needs such as cleaning supplies, tools, dry towels, water, work gloves, et cetera.
We would also appreciate accommodation, and supplies along the way. You can keep track of us on our Facebook page, where we will also be documenting where we are and what we are doing.
Thank you, -Jordan
We used your donations to order needed supplies, tools, water and snacks for the victims which we gathered before arriving at their homes.
A lot of these victims didn't have transportation because they're vehicles were also flooded, and were grounded in their flood damaged homes.
Our work is done for now, the victims are mostly mentally healing, and rebuilding.
We will continue this effort now that we know how to do it and have a routine in place. Thank you all once again. -Jordan
