Howardwick VFD needs new Fire Station
We are a rural, all-volunteer Fire Department (501c3 pending) serving the community of Howardwick, TX, a town of about 600 people, located in the grasslands of the Texas Panhandle. We are not a 'City' Department. As we receive very little assistance from the City, we must mostly operate independently, thru fundraising. We are in desperate need of a new - and much larger - Fire Station.
We now have 7 trucks, 3 of which we have to keep outside: (see update below)

The truck, pump and assemblies are in excellent condition - the 3208 Cat main engine is locked up, but replaceable.
Our current Station is only 40'x35', with no running water, no restrooms and a very tiny area to gear up in:
We now have 15 active FireFighters, and we need several more trucks, but we simple have no where to put them. We have acquired another location for the new Station, and now we need help as soon as we could get it.
The goal amount will allow us to construct a 60'x80' building allowing us to house 10 trucks and proper area to gear up. It will also allow for the construction of a 40'x60' admin building, containing restrooms, training room and a pull-thru repair bay to work on our trucks and house our tools, benches, oils, ect.
It will also allow us to place and plumb a 5,000 gallon water storage tank for emergencies:
Additionally, it should also allow us to place a new, much larger and more modern, Community storm shelter. As you can see, the existing one is very small, and tends to flood during heavy storms:
Every dime of these funds will go to upgrading the Fire Department's ability to serve and make Emergency Management improvements that are more than 40 years out of date.
