Support Hoboken Crossing Guards!

"I was on my feet all day yesterday and by the time I got home my back was killing me and my feet were throbbing. I probably need better shoes."

This was the short exchange between Beth, a Hoboken mom walking her children to school, and Lily, their neighborhood crossing guard. Beth could not get Lily’s comments out of her head and wanted to do something to help all of our Hoboken crossing guards attain proper shoes so they can feel good while assisting children and elderly pedestrians at our busy intersections throughout town.

Beth brought this up with Councilwoman Jen Giattino and together they hatched a plan. It took just one phone call to enlist Sean, the owner of Fleet Feet (a local business at 604 Washington) who readily agreed to fit all of our 43 crossing guards with properly soled and supported shoes, plus wool socks to get their job done in comfort. Sean has graciously discounted this bundle 30%.

Please help us raise funds to make sure our crossing guards are wearing comfortable and proper shoes as they work to aid our community.
