Help Ezra Get on His Feet

Our friend Ezra joined the Greensboro community last October. He came out as trans just last year (claps!); he'd been wanting to come out since age 21, but as with many of our trans sisters and brothers, shifts in his support system prevented this.
Ezra is experiencing a rough patch -- life sure loves to throw those out -- and could use some help from his neighbors to get back on his feet. Currently, he's staying with a friend, but this is not a long-term solution. So many of us have been there. (And if we haven't... what privilege! Let's pass some love along!) If we all throw in $10, think of what we can accomplish!
Once he's on his feet, Ezra plans to study mortuary science locally:
"I lost my Dad when I was 16. It was a pretty sudden occurance following a successful life saving surgery, but he had medical complications that left him brain dead. Death of immediate family is jarring and it gave me a pretty early experience of what loss does to an individual and the affected family.
"Fast forward to friends coming to me when losses occured in their lives, seeking reassurance and comfort. I became pretty comfortable discussing it and making space for them in their time of need. It dawned on me that maybe turning that ability into a career would be the best life path for me.
"I felt like that was my calling, being able to help people in a time like that... putting my creativity and compassion to work to help them celebrate the life of the person they loved."
Specifically, here is where this money will go:
- 30 day bus pass ($58)
- obtaining a drivers' license
- clothing + job interview prep
- healthcare
- obtaining housing
- visiting family (currently impossible)
- food + general living expenses
