My father Valentin Jaquez Jr. is the most honored, respected, generous, caring, and loving man that I have ever met. He is a son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather to three, uncle, cousin, Godparent, friend, hard worker, and a Veteran Marine. His wisdom, experience, and solutions are admired by many.
Now more than ever, he needs your love and support. He and his wife - Sylvia Jaquez are amazing and could use your help right now! Val (JR.)has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma Cancer.
The basics: In the 2nd quarter of 2018, the pain started at the inside of the foot. Stage 4 melanoma means cancer has spread to other parts of the body, such as the lymph nodes which are a good distance from the original tumor. He started 1 of the 4 chemotherapy treatments in October 2018.
The other basics: In December, 80% of the melanoma progressed in his favor. Due to the effects of the chemotherapy, the doctor advised not to proceed with the 4th treatment. Over the holidays, he started to feel the pain he felt in the beginning. Yesterday (January 14), after further results, the melanoma has taken over his entire leg from the foot to the abdomen. He will begin another set of chemotherapy treatments.
They have spent $20,000.00 out of pocket with insurance since day 1. The expense has been overbearing. More tests and treatments are to come in the following weeks and months.
