Help Us Save the Bees

I am 14 years old (started this at 13) and have started this "Go Fund Me" because a few friends and I have began working on a project to save and maintain the bee population of our nation. The native bees of the USA are facing devastating habitat loss, and this is causing a rapid decline in plant pollination. Plant pollination is not only important because it allows us to have a colorful world around us, but we need plants to survive. For example, Almonds are only pollinated by bees, and that’s not all, about ⅓ of our plants are solely pollinated by bees. We have recognized that this is a problem and seek your help in achieving our overarching goal of saving and maintaining the nations native bee population. Our approach to this problem is not only to raise awareness about the problem of habitat loss, but to build bee houses to put around the Twin Cities and the country. We also have made the building instructions for these houses readily available to the general public so that they can join in the effort. By building bee houses for the native bees of the United States (which are mostly solitary bees), we are providing a safe place for mother bees to lay their eggs, allowing a new generation of bees to follow.


The funds raised here will go to trademark our logo, name, and slogan, they will pay for the fees to register as an official non-profit organization, help us to pay for the domain/web hosting fees, and other start-up costs. It will also help to fund our community outreach efforts as we develop them. These donations will not only make our organization more professional, it will open new doors for you, our supporters because it will allow us to do so many more things with our organization than ever before. Being that we are fourteen, we don't really have that kind of money. We have realized that not everyone has access to a drill, so we will also use these funds to build bee houses for lower income neighborhoods, so that those who want to help, though are financially unable to, still can. By donating, you are not just helping us legally protect our rights, but you are helping us to provide low-income people who want to help, be able to. It also helps to sustain our efforts to prevent the continued decline in bee population and pollination. By donating, you are also helping to maintain 1/3 of human food crops around the world.

We hope that you will choose to support us because it would mean the world to us. If we could raise the funds to turn our organization into something real, that would be amazing. The word has already started to spread, we started with two bee houses, and have made our way up to seven in our first thirty days! Now, we' have over 30 registered bee houses. We even have some people commited to building bee houses around the country! Just think what would happen if you give it a year, and if we could officially call ourselves a non-profit organization founded and operated by kids. That would be a great feeling of accomplishment for everyone on our team-- just to know that all of our hardwork is finally turning into something. Sure it all started as a school project, but we want to make it something more than that, we want to make a contribution to our country, and we can... but only with your help.
