Have you ever met someone who wanted so desperately to be a mother, yet dreams weren’t coming true on their own?  In this day and times, how exciting would it be to know a baby will be loved beyond imagination. Meet my sister, Brandy, and her husband, Cory.  This is a couple who is so deserving of a family but are facing obstacles out of their control. The only hope for them requires an amount of money that they don’t have but so desperately need.  In the past six years, they have endured 7 rounds of Artificial Insemination, wrong diagnoses, maxed out insurance benefits, multiple Doctors, thousands of dollars spent out of pocket and many tears and heartbreak, their only chance is In Vitro Fertilization, which they hope to do in June of 2019!  Please continue reading for the story of my wonderful sister and why they need the help financially to make their dreams a reality.

Growing up, Brandy always aspired to be a mother.  She would play with barbies and dolls in a way that only a person who had the natural abilities of a mother could play.  When Brandy is around a baby, that child seems so content in her arms, she always knows just what to do to comfort them.  It’s a running joke (however extremely true) that I can’t hold a baby without it crying, yet, the moment she holds him or her they stop!  Brandy will do anything for anyone.  She has dropped everything to be there for me several times and I know she does it out of love, not because she must.  She has a heart of gold and is so deserving of any help you can give.   She has watched friends and family around her fulfill their dreams of having children while desperately praying for her own.  She attends and throws baby showers and birthday parties for her loved ones, all while holding in the burden of why she doesn’t get to have these parties for her own child, YET!

Brandy and Cory were married in September, 2013.  They actually went to the same high school together but did not know each other until they met years later on a dating web site in 2011!  As a couple, they knew they always wanted children.   In fact, they started right away to have a child.  When things weren’t going as they hoped, they made an appointment to see a doctor.  This first Doctor diagnosed Brandy with PCOS, which would make conceiving very difficult.  They did IUI (artificial insemination) five times, each time with no positive results. They decided to seek out another Doctor, this time a specialist in Bozeman, a town 3 hours away.  This Dr. indicated that Brandy did not in fact have PCOS, great news for Brandy and Cory!  They decided to try IUI again, this time with hormonal injections.  They needed to inject the hormones every day and then drive the 3 hours after the last injection to do the IUI.  After trying this 2 times, they were beginning to feel discouraged and heartbroken.

In the fall of 2018, Brandy attended a Women’s Expo where she met a Fertility Doctor out of Spokane, Washington.  After a phone conversation with the Dr., she and Cory made the 6 hour drive to meet him and do some initial testing.  The results indicated that their only option of having a child biologically was through In Vitro  Fertilization.  They immediately started the process of going forward.  This Dr. offered suggestions for medicines and blood tests for them both to take that no other Dr. suggested would work.  Results were great, the medicines are working and IVF has extremely good odds of working for them now!  However, along with the cost of IVF, this Dr. is 6 hours away.  For the procedure, they will need to factor in cost of driving and staying there for several days at a time.  Timing is extremely crucial in this working now.  They are doing everything the Dr. tells them to do and are at the right health for this to work now!

Brandy’s insurance only covered a lifetime benefit of $7000 towards infertility treatments. They exhausted this amount during the first 5 rounds of IUI, five years ago.  Everything since then has been out of pocket and will continue to be out of pocket.  Any help they receive will go towards the cost of IVF.   They have already spent thousands towards previous procedures but are hopeful that IVF will work! They will have three tries with this one-time procedure amount.  They already have around $5,000 of the savings they have left from their years of working towards this dream, but it is not enough.

If you have the means and desire to help this family out, your grace will be so appreciated and you will always hold a special place in their hearts.  If they can get the financial burden taken care of, they will be ready to start this next chapter by the end of June!!
