Help The Pagaza Family Find a Home

Thank you for taking a moment to consider donating to this worthy campaign!

After overcoming several life changing battles personally,  protecting herself and her children from hurtful and dangerous living situations, and pulling herself up by her boot-straps and starting over time and time again to overcome adversity: Cat is needing our help.  Her family's rented home was quite literally sold out from under them, and she must find another home VERY quickly; her husband is only dollars away from finishing his residency program; and now her daughter is struggling with a medical issue.

Catalina grew up an abusive and drug-laden childhood home.  In her tender teenage years, she realised that she needed to get away from the unhealthy home situation she was in.  Her grandparents opened their home to her, but they tragically passed away shortly after.  At a young age, she married and began her family.  However, her then-husband became abusive to she and her children, and Cat moved herself and her children away from the man. Her ex husband gave up his rights to the three children, and she was once again on her own, struggling to make ends meet.

Years later, she met her current husband, and love of her life, Juan.  Juan adopted Catalina's three children as his own.  Together, they have had two more beautiful children--the youngest at 1.5 years old.

Juan, Catalina and her children have been happily settled in a rental home in Iowa.

Juan works hard to support his family, but because he's limited on the jobs he can take, the jobs he is offered often pay very little.

As for Cat: On top of being a stay-at-home-mom during the day to her little ones and home-schooling one of her children, she has had to take a night-shift job cleaning offices just make ends meet.  She is determined to keep her family afloat, so she gets three to four hours of sleep a night.

However, recently their financial situation become even more dire.  Due to a loophole in their rental agreement, the house they called home has quite literally been sold out from under them.  They have 30 days to find a new home, or face homelessness.

As if that wasn't enough stress, her second eldest child has also began to have a mysterious medical issues, so the little bit of extra money they have is going towards doctor's visits, sonograms, CT scans and blood tests to find out the culprit of her daughters medical issue.

I have set up this campaign in hopes that we, as hard working mothers and friends with the common bond of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Onesie, can help our fellow mother.

Catalina's pride and independence initially kept her from accepting any idea of assistance or help.  However, once I shared with Catalina my intent of setting up a fundraiser to help her get over this bump-in-the-road, she humbly accepted anything that we could gather together.

With the money from this campaign, and if it successfully meets it's goal, Catalina will be able to find her family another home, pay for moving costs, and the couple will be able to find more competitive, and better paying, jobs. Any extra will go towards their mounting medical bills for their daughter.

Thank you for taking a moment to read about this Strong Mommy's story.

ANY help will be appreciated. ANY amount. And if your family is also financially in a tight spot and cannot afford to donate, any prayers and wellwishes will be certainly appreciated, as well.

God bless.

PS: While GoFundMe is the best known and most affordable fundraising option, the website itself takes 2.9% of all donations for it's services.  97 cents of every dollar will go directly to Catalina and her family.
