Danielle Janofsky Memorial Trust
Danielle “Dani” Janofsky was 6 months pregnant when she entered the hospital with abdominal pains on February 8, 2017. It was quickly discovered that melanoma had spread to her liver, kidney, stomach, and finally, brain. She made the selfless and loving decision to deliver baby Jake on Friday February 24th thereby sacrificing herself so that her son could live. Jake was born 1 pound 11 ounces and is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Pennsylvania where he recently met his big sister Avery, age 4.
Dani, devoted mother, loving wife, much-loved sister, beloved daughter and cherished daughter-in-law lost her very short battle with cancer on February 27, 2017.
Dani’s husband Max, a K9 police officer in Monroe Township New Jersey, was by her side every minute helping to ease her pain and remind her of how much love surrounds her and her family. Max is a retired Staff Sargeant, Bronze Star recipient, combat veteran who served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan for the United States Army.
This fundraising page has been developed to benefit trust funds for Avery and Jake Janofsky. Funds will be used to ensure the best medical care for Jake and additional funds will be used for education purposes for the children.
We appreciate you taking the time to read this description of a bright life that ended too soon and hope that you will carry the love Dani had for her family, especially her children, with you as an inspiration to live everyday fully and love everyone fiercely.
Thank you for considering a donation in her honor.
Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain, When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.
We wish we could hug each and everyone of you personally, You are restoring our faith in this world! We want the universe to know the sacrifice dani made to bring jake into this world. If you could write down where the donations are from , it will show us danis story has reached so far and wide. Also the FOP and all first responders I didn't truly understand when you say " brotherhood /sisterhood" you are truly family
I am so sorry to for your loss. Your wife sounds like an amazing woman, wife, and mother. She definitely did the most selfless thing you can do for another. I wish her peace. And wish you and your family strength during this time. This story truly touched me as I am a military spouse, sister to AD brother, and Sister in law to a fellow police officer. Max, I know this is all about your wife and I am not trying to take from that, but I have to take time to thank you as well. You sound like an ideal SOLDIER and person. I want to THANK YOU for your Service to Our Country and your continued Service as a Police Officer. A SOLDIER shows great strength and courage each and every day as they get up and do their job. No questions asked just go. I wish you and your family the best and hope with time it gets easier. I pray your lil man gets strong quickly and makes it home to you and his sister soon. Thank you and Hoorah!!
I truly wish I had any extra $ to help out. Unfortunately I'm so broke due to lay off at work. However, I did share this on my Facebook page asking everyone to please help. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this amazing family and to all of Danielle's friend's and family. It sounds like she was a very amazing person.
I am not in a financial position that I can donate, but felt the need to let you know that you are in my prayers. Cancer is such an ugly disease. Your wife is a hero and phenomenal Mommy. She chose her child over herself. A very selfless act. There is a special place in Heaven for her.
