My best friend in the whole world (Brooke, 24) and her two sweet little boys (Nick, 2 and Patrick, 9 months) have been victim to domestic abuse.
Brooke has found the strength to get her and the boys out of a very dangerous living situation. Brooke's husband, Matthew Heimbach, was recently arrested (again) for assault. He was arrested for battery, assault, domestic abuse in front of a minor and strangulation. Thank God it wasn't worse than that...
Brooke has started the process of separating her abusive husband and is currently looking for a job. I am hoping with everyone's love and support we can ease her financial burden a little bit so her and the boys can have a safe, fresh start.

I am SO proud of Brooke, she is so strong. Brooke is an amazing mother and a great person. It hurts me to know she's been dealing with this monster for so long.
