HELP BJÖRN GET CIVIL RIGHTS ATTORNEY

My brother Björn was arrested on 1-16-19, 2 days before his 21st birthday. The Redmond Police Department mistreated him, racially profiled in the first place, shouted at him, pushed him around, and put him in handcuffs... OVER JAYWALKING!!!
He was skateboarding and couldn’t hear one of the female bike cops say “stop”. He had no idea he did anything wrong at all. They singled him out, truly for being a person of color, and he didn’t resist whatsoever, his hands were to his side and he was completely taken back by this arrest.
Even with Jaywalking, that is a TICKET offense and not an arrest!
He spent 24 hours in jail in Des Moines and wasn’t able to reach his family! The cops also REMOVED all the money from his wallet, which was $522 because they felt he was suspicious, and had no grounds to do so.
He is a college student and I PERSONALLY gave him some of that birthday money, along with his grandmother. Today, 1-18-19, I went to the Redmond police Dept and demanded that the money be given back to him and it was not.
HIS OWN GIFTED MONEY.
We know our rights, and we will be working with an attorney.

We appreciate Björn’s friend Alex @bigbluecarl (Instagram handle) for witnessing and taking the video in the first place. They should not treat skateboarders so terribly. The skate park is there in Redmond for a reason! Skateboarding is a healthy sport and helps a lot of people in the community!!!

It breaks my heart to see my little brother getting pushed around. It’s disgusting and disturbing.
This is a young man with hopes and dreams to be involved in film and design. He is so good with my kids and I often get a huge smile when he rocks my newborn daughter to sleep.
He is the kindest guy. He would never harm anyone and he is NOT a criminal.
Please help us get a civil rights attorney and help us fight this!
