If you happen to drive in the mid / downtown Lynchburg area any given day you may have seen Billy before driving his Honda scooter with bags of cans stacked on it. Billy Mason has been a customer of ours for 10+ years. He is an awesome guy and a very hard worker! We have sold him multiple scooters over the years and have always let him pay over time as he could, never charge him any interest, and always give him huge discounts because we try to help him as much as possible. Billys main source of income used to be the YMCA in downtown Lynchburg - he also drove his scooter all over town collecting recyclable materials and cashing them in. A few years ago Billy lost his job at the YMCA and since then collecting cans, etc became his main source of income. Now in doing this he is putting many more miles on his scooter and right now cant keep up with the necessary maintenance on the scooter and afford to pay for the scooter as well. About 3 weeks ago his scooter had major engine issues and is no longer worth fixing. Billy has been walking all over town every day to keep up with his can collection efforts to try to get a new scooter but as of right now he still owes about $800.00 between the balance on his scooter and all of his past service repairs. He still comes in every day paying whatever he can. We wanted to reach out to the local community to see if we can help raise enough money to help him pay off his account AND get him on a new Honda scooter. He is a very hard worker and doesnt try to get a hand out from anyone - he's out there collecting and recycling every day and he is 62 years old! Please donate and help get Billy back on 2 wheels!
