Harvey Dog & Cat Evacuations
Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, Animal Shelter Assistance Program, Woods Humane Society and have joined forces to help dogs and cats being evacuated from the Houston area in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Our organizations collectively have made available space to accept 200 dogs & cats. The animals being transported to California were already in Houston shelters prior to the storm. We are not relocating pets who would be searching for their families in Texas.

Funds raised through this site will be shared among the receiving agencies in California to pay for transportation, medical expenses, and sheltering costs while our teams of staff and dedicated volunteers go to work finding these pets homes. Some animals arriving from Texas need to be spayed or neutered, treated for heartworms, and supported with other veterinary needs before adoption. This is a chance for Californians to directly help Texas animal flood victims in need.
