Santa Maria Valley Humane Society

Our daughter and sister, Stephanie Snow, passed away on January 2nd, 2018 at the age of twenty-six after a long battle with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP).  Through Stephanie’s courage and grace she was able to spread awareness, raise funds and be a part of the research efforts which continues the work to find a cure for her devastating condition.   

However, FOP is a medical condition that Stephanie had but FOP is not what defined who Stephanie was…

Stephanie’s number one passion in life was the welfare and care of animals.  She began early in life with raising rabbits and sheep through 4-H programs.  As her disability progressed, she found new ways to continue her love of caring for animals through hand-raising abandoned newborn kittens and fostering animals in need.

Now is the time to honor Stephanie’s passion. 

This GoFundMe is to carry on Stephanie’s legacy through a memorial fund that will support the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.   It has been identified that the purchase of a Digital HD Radiology System is an unmet need.  The X-ray equipment would be located at SMV Humane Society but have the ability to benefit sick/injured pets at both Santa Barbara County Animal Services and the SMV Humane Society (neither facility has an X-ray machine).  This radiology suite would be named in Stephanie’s honor. 

This is something that would continue to give great meaning to Stephanie’s legacy, and a way to give back to a community that has given so much to Stephanie and our entire family.
