Support for Tina

Our sister Tina, and daughter of Marie and Declan Ronan, is almost seven years old. She has severe developmental delay. She does not have speech yet and cannot walk or support herself without assistance. She is fed mostly through a feeding tube. At the age of one years old, Tina was diagnosed with epilepsy. Since then, she has developed two movement disorders; Chorea and Dystonia, which interfere with her everyday life and is quite distressing for her. Although multiple tests have been administered, Tina’s condition is so rare that an overall diagnosis has not yet been confirmed.



Tina is a very happy girl and can communicate with her family in her own little way. She is becoming more aware of her surroundings and is improving in her strength each day.



Tina requires her own bedroom and bathroom which will be wheelchair accessible and will have a built-in hoist to lift her and enable her to be washed more safely. At present her room is not wheelchair accessible and the bathroom is not suitable for her needs. Tina has also outgrown her car seat and a new vehicle is mandatory which will allow her to sit in her wheelchair when travelling. It is our aim to raise funds so that the family home can be adapted for Tina’s requirements and for a suitable vehicle.



As Tina’s family, we are doing all we can to raise the funds we need, but we need a little help. Your support provided for Tina will help to ensure that she will receive the facilities that she requires and help her to live the life she so greatly deserves.
