Give 'Baby Jake' a Future

Donation protected

Twenty-five years ago, when he was just 12-days old, Baby Jake’s mother Debbie Fream was murdered by Frankston serial killer, Paul Denyer.

Jake’s father Garry Blair was featured on the front page of newspapers Australia-wide, holding his tiny fluffy-haired son.

The community rallied and contributed to a Baby Jake fund. Some of the brightest moments of Jake’s childhood happened because of that fund.

As much as the community hoped and prayed for Jake’s future, life has not been kind him. When he was a teenager, his dad was severely injured in an accident, and died when Jake was 18, leaving him largely alone in the world.

Jake’s heart-breaking story was recently featured in the June Australian Women’s Weekly.

Debbie Fream was Denyer's second victim. Five weeks before he had murdered Elizabeth Stevens; and three weeks after, he took the life of Natalie Russell, on her way home from school.

Jake Blair is the unknown victim of the Frankston murders; although as 'Baby Jake'  he has never been forgotten by the people of Frankston.

He needs our help again. It is our wish to raise money to give him a new start, to help him find a place to live, and give him a chance to find work, or perhaps further his education.

It is also our dearest hope that money raised will also assist him to visit Melbourne to join us in commemorating the 25th anniversary of the deaths of Elizabeth, Natalie, and his mother, Debbie.

Our community would welcome him with a warm embrace because we profoundly understand his loss.

The Memorial

The Facebook group, Frankston Community Noticeboard, has organised a memorial on Monday July 30 at 3 pm at Nat's Track: Skye Road Frankston North.

Natalie's parents, Brian and Carmel Russell, will attend the ceremony, at the track named for their daughter.

They will be joined by representatives from Victoria Police; the author of the book The Frankston Murders, Vikki Petraitis; the State Member for Frankston, Paul Edbrooke; and the Federal Member for Dunkley, Chris Crewther.

Jake's Future Fund

In the lead up to the anniversary of the murders, people are looking at ways to mark the occasion and remember the young women, Elizabeth Stevens, Debbie Fream, and Natalie Russell who fell victim to the serial killer.

What better way than to make a donation to help Debbie’s boy?

It is fitting that this campaign to help Jake is starting on July 8 – Debbie’s anniversary.
