Our community considers this statue to be a symbol of exploitation and oppression. Our neighbors from Tribal councils, our students and residents of color, and other strong, caring members of our community have all shared why removing this symbol is such an important step for our community. Show your support for the removal by donating what you can!

This is a fund to help the City of Arcata cover the estimated costs of relocating the statue of McKinley, which will include an Environmental Impact Report, physical removal costs, and other costs. We appreciate the City of Arcata listening to their neighbors and their community by initially voting to remove this statue, and hope that our continued support of this vote will show that we want and need to be on the right side of history. As many other cities continue to remove racist and colonial statues, we hope that this action will further our collective solidarity as a community that stands up for what is right
