For all of the entertainment Keytar Bear provides this city, I want to donate a newer, more powerful stage monitor to his cause. I'll put up to 200 towards the purchase!

My name is Eric Williams and I'm a local boston resident living in the North End. I've been a fan of Keytar Bear since I first saw him after moving to Boston a little less than 4 years ago.

I started this campaign after I saw him perform at Boston Tech Jam. I felt like he could benefit from some new equipment so I decided that maybe a gofundme would help with that mission.

The funds from this campaign will be used to purchase a new speaker, a protective case and some more durable audio cables. Any remaining money will be sent to Keytar Bear via paypal to his manager Laura Marquis who I've been in contact with through Facebook, text and e-mail.

Good Morning Folks,

We've finally received all of the new equipment! With that said, I've decided to disable donations for this campaign. Thanks to everyone who threw their support behind this effort and Keytar Bear himself.

He'll be coming by Davis Square tomorrow evening to pickup the speaker etc - any may even perform in the square! Keep an eye on twitter for more information.

Thanks,
Eric

Good Morning!

Wow, I am blown away that this has surpassed 10k.

We were able to purchase the speaker, an all weather cover and a Roland xv2020 Synthesizer (mighty hard to find as it's not manufactured any longer and there isn't a seller that continues to carry it. Fortunately someone had one up for auction on ebay and we got it!)

I've sent ~$5000 to Keytar Bear so far, and I'm just waiting for additional deposits to clear the bank and I'll be sending the rest.

Thanks to everyone again!

- Eric

Good Morning All!

First just let me say thank you again to each and every person that contributed to this campaign. The fact that people continue to donate up to this moment when we're so far beyond the goal proves just how much Keytar Bear means to all of us and our city.

I'm happy to report that as of this morning I have received the first withdraw from the fund in the amount of $2,140.43, of which 1500 will be sent to Keytar Bears manager via PayPal. The remaining 640 will be used to purchase the following items:

A brand new JBL 1000w EON615, a light weight and durable powered speaker. Perfect for a bear on the go.

And a weather resistant case/cover which will keep it safe from the wild weather of Boston throughout the year.

I'll also be purchasing new and more durable audio cables. I'll need to get some more information on how he powers his equipment so we can potentially offer him an upgrade in that area as well.

In an effort to provide maximum transparency, at this time there are two pending withdraws in the amounts of $3,614.29 and $469.04. The first of which I anticipate receiving this Thursday, June 22nd the second likely arriving on Friday. The second amount may change based on donation activity today, and I'll be sure post updates on the status of getting Keytar Bear every penny not spent on equipment.

What has happened here is truly amazing and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it.

Thanks,
Eric
