Fund-for-Alasana`s-School-Meals

Food for Thought.  The best gift you could give yourself is a helping hand to others. If you take the time to read this and feel compassion to donate the price of a coffee and a roll, or a beer to help someone,  and find just one other friend or family member to do the same, then for less time than it takes for you to drink your coffee or beer, Alasana will have the dignity of not having to beg to eat for an entire year.

This GoFundMe Campaign is a continuation of the previous GoFundMe Campaign found at https://www.gofundme.com/fund-for-alasanas-school-fees that successfully raised enough money to allow Alasana to have the dignity of being able to pay for his 2017 school fees and expenses. It is based on Alasana`s Micro-JITIFA project found at https://alasanacamara.blogspot.ch There, you will find other details and photos that you might find interesting. Using the COMMENT facility of the Blog, you are able to ask him questions and offer him feedback and contact other people who collaborate in helping him reach his project`s goal.

The goal is to raise enough money to give Alasana the dignity of being able to pay for his 2017 school meals.

Please help Alasana maintain his dignity.

With about a third of the population of The Gambia below the international poverty line of US$1.25 per day, many of its youths are not only left without an adequate education, but also without adequate meals.

That is a reason that Mr Hydara started his special Skill Center for handicapped children that teaches them adequate skills for their future and feeds them nourishing meals. Mr Hydara relies on donations to do this and ends up having to use all of his donations just for feeding and for powering his school. With this project, it is my goal to help Alasana raise enough money so that he has the dignity of paying for his 2017 school meals by himself. This is a win win situation that not only feeds Alasana in a dignified and nourishing way, but also leaves Alasana`s family with more money to feed themselves, and leaves Mr Hydara with more money to expand his school. Lastly it give the donor`s the opportunity to get to know Alasana, the poverty in Gambia, what people eat there and to become more thankful for their own fortunate situation that allows them to help.

Alasana Camara is 15 years old from a very poor family from Gambia, a very poor country. Alasana was born disabled. His father was a local farmer who died when Alasana was 5 years old. His younger brother is also disabled and his brother and two sisters are living with their mother.  Alasana`s ambition is to eventually attend university to specialize in Information Technology. His family is too poor to pay the required school expenses and school fees. Alasana has published his own Micro-JITIFA project that along with the GoFundMe Campaign successfully raised enough money to pay his 2017 school fees and expenses.

Alasana`s determination, dedication and will power to survive and be a success despite his handicap astounds and inspires me on a daily basis. I am certain that Alasana will be able to achieve his dreams of becoming a productive working adult if only given the chance.

I can vouch for Alasana`s honesty as I have been in contact with him over a 4 month period helping him publish his Micro-JITIFA projects where you can also donate using Bitcoins or PayPal to his project.  I have also been also in contact with the school principal Mr Hydara.

The costs of the 3 nutritional meals each day is only $1.70  for food and drinks and $0.65 for the fuel needed to cook it and boil the water. This is just $2.35 / day or $70.50 / month or $846 / year.  With 10% fees for GoFundMe, bank exchange and transfers, the funds needed for an entire year is USD$931 or CHF 900

Please see the details of the meals at Alasana`s Blog at: https://alasanacamara.blogspot.ch where you can see how nutritious Alasana`s school meals are and look at additional photos and detail descriptions.

There in the COMMENT facility of the blog, you can meet your fellow collaborators and ask Alasana any questions you might have about Gambia cuisine, his school meals and other questions you might have.
Hope to see you there!
Kind regards,
Andrew Vecsey
