Since I first contacted Kesha several months ago, we have been working together to try and find the best way to move forward with this campaign. We didn't raise enough to accomplish our initial goal of buying Kesha's contract, and Kesha didn't want to accept the money for herself. She wanted to find a way to help others, and she wanted to make sure your donations were put to use in a way that would honor each and every one of you who gives.

So with Kesha's blessing and support, all of the money raised by this campaign will be given to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) to help fund their National Sexual Assault Hotline as well as educational outreach efforts. This way, your donations will go directly towards helping survivors.

When you give to RAINN, you're not just donating to an organization—you're helping to improve the lives of thousands of people affected by sexual violence. 93¢ of every dollar donated will go directly to RAINN's programs and services. RAINN will use this donation to help an average of 558 survivors receive help through its hotlines each day. A portion of the funds also will be used to educate more than 130 million people per year on prevention and recovery, through relationships with the entertainment industry, the media, and local communities.

For more information about RAINN, please visit their website: https://donate.rainn.org/

Please tweet/RT/share #FreeKesha as much as you can. She is still under contract to Sony and still needs our support.

As we approach Christmas, I want to say thank you again to everyone who has helped make this campaign a success. Donations are back open and you can now also donate directly to RAINN which qualifies as a tax-deductible contribution:

This is an especially hard time of year for survivors. Please keep them in your thoughts as you celebrate the holidays. Please share the new campaign link with anyone and everyone, and help us keep the spirit of #FreeKesha alive.

First of all, thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign, financially or otherwise. Everyone who has shared their own story—this was successful because of you.

Since it's #GivingTuesday, it seems appropriate to announce that Kesha has decided to donate all of the money we've raised to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). This money will help fund their National Sexual Assault Hotline as well as educational outreach efforts. Kesha wants your donations to do as much good as possible for survivors. She's very appreciative of the support and would like to encourage you to learn about RAINN: https://donate.rainn.org/

We are hoping to reopen donations to make this an ongoing project. I will keep you updated and let you know as soon as this happens. In the meantime, if you want to you can encourage others to donate directly to RAINN via the link above in Kesha's name.

Thank you all for your patience. I know it's been a long time. I'm very excited for this development and hope that you are, too.

As I'm sure you've heard, Kesha's claims of sexual assault were dismissed by the NY Supreme Court yesterday. There are links to the court documents and some media articles on the GoFundMe page.

This is a pretty big setback, but the case continues, and we can still keep fighting.

On a better note, I've listed Kesha's brother as the recipient of the funds from the campaign. That's being set up right now, and in the meantime donations are on hold. I'll let you know when everything is back up.

I've been able to reach Kesha's management (Vector) and we are in the process of getting everything set up with them. The campaign is still running and will keep going as long as there is a need. I'm hoping this is just the first step in creating a way for people to support not just Kesha's cause, but the larger issues of violence and sexual assault against women. Thanks for your support! Please share!
