Freedom Park & Adventure Playground
A wonderful group of volunteers started a community park called Freedom Park, dedicated to all who served for peace. Rotary wanted to build a playground, so, 1,000 local volunteers showed up and we built a 12,000 sq.ft. Playground. Now property taxes are behind, as no one believes a community park & playground pay taxes....
Just wanted to give an update on how your money is being spent - TAXES are paid thru this year, we just sent $ 4,150, to Camano Hills Water Association, we haven't used 1 gallon of water in 3 years, even after I told them we can't afford & don't need the water...but, $100 a month has continued. Hopefully, they won't continue billing us for water....
We have formed a new volunteer board with one member from Rotary and one from the Camano Island Chamber. We are looking good, thanks to YOU.
Sincerely, Mike Nestor
all from the local churches! Wow, it's amazing how much work can get accomplished, weed eater, rakes, loppers, young and old all pitched in to help. It was so wonderful to see dad & sons, mothers & daughters all working together... to make the community park look fabulous! Thanks a million to ALL!!
Hi Mike, So thankful to you for looking after Freedom Park so faithfully. And, happy to know dads trusty ride on mower is still helping you do the job! We'd like to talk to you about this situation. Is there a way to contact you privately? Mara (Cummings) Nelson
