Free Billy the Elephant

Billy the Elephant has spent decades in the LA Zoo, stuck in a miserable purgatory so he can bring revenue through visitors and the sale of his semen. A captive forced to live in a fraction of the space elephants are meant to occupy, on concrete that destroys his feet, he's spent countless hours doing nothing than bobbing his head, often against chain link fences, until he bleeds, an obvious sign of distress.
Billy doesn't have a Blackfish-like documentary to chronicle his mistreatment but, make no mistake, this is animal abuse.
Join us in making a difference as we fight to FREE BILLY! We are raising funds, along with our voices, to take legal action against the LA Zoo (trial is currently set for March 19th) and any donation will help make a difference.

LA City Council David Ryu's Office is one of the primary obstacles we are facing. Here's what he needs to hear: "I am a concerned voter and I am calling on council member Ryu to let Billy the Elephant live out the rest of his days at the PAWS sanctuary."
