Save Billy - The Time Is Now!
Voice For The Animals Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on advocating for animals through education, rescue, and advocacy.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to make sure that Billy does not die at the LA Zoo and instead is transferred to the sanctuary to close the elephant exhibit permanently and put in a hologram! We need your help to make sure that no more elephants die at the Zoo!
Two elephants, Jewel and Shaunzi, have died at the LA Zoo in the last year. We must get Billy the elephant out of the LA Zoo before it's too late.
We plan to work together with Dr. Ensley to gather all vet records and documents, to make sure that the zoo understands they legally must provide everything we request, to create and make public a report with clear evidence about Billy, Tina, Shaunzi and Jewel, and to meet with councilmembers to advocate for the elephants and to show them the truth of what is happening to the elephants as opposed to the zoos’ cruel fabrications.
We are compiling evidence from zoo vet records that will clearly show that Billy is suffering and in constant pain. His feet are in horrible shape from walking on packed earth that is as hard as concrete. Elephants' feet are made to walk on soft surfaces. Despite the zoo’s denial, the packed earth that the elephants at the LA Zoo are forced to walk on has killed many of the elephants. They develop cracked nails, which produce infections and lead to osteomyelitis, which is terminal. Billy now has large, painful cracks in his feet and nails. In addition, the small space he lives in has produced stereotypic behavior. His endless rocking shows he is going crazy and crying for help. We must convince the City Council to transfer Billy to a sanctuary that is saving 15 acres of woods, lakes, hills and valleys for him. We must help them see the cruelty of leaving him at the zoo and the fact that they have a choice to save his life.
Voice For The Animals Foundation is a 501c3 charity, it emphasizes transparency and accountability while working to promote empathy and respect for all animals. The foundation's educational efforts aim to challenge societal norms about animals and inspire THE PUBLIC to become involved in whatever issue they are interested in. Its rescue operations save animals from neglect and abuse, offering medical care, rehabilitation, and shelter for a new start. Additionally, the organization advocates for animal protection by collaborating with industry leaders to create stronger protections for animals. Through these activities, Voice For The Animals Foundation seeks to foster a compassionate culture and significantly impact the lives of all animals, including those used for food, clothing, and entertainment.
