It’s with deepest regret, the Cinnaminson Police Department announce the unexpected death of recently retired Sgt. Francis X. Rooney. Frank passed away suddenly on December 5, 2016 while on his first day of a new job, he was only 50 years young.

Frank served over 28-years in law enforcement and was well known and respected within the Cinnaminson community and will sadly be missed. The biggest impact of Frank’s untimely death will be felt by his family. Frank leaves behind his loving wife Jill to raise their six young children ages ranging from 7 to 17 on her own.  Frank’s family meant the world to him and he meant the same to them.

We are reaching out to the community for support in the form of donations to help Jill (and Frank’s children) with unexpected funeral expenses and financial strain suddenly placed upon them. The donations will help ease this difficult time for this devastated family especially right before Christmas.  Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page or made directly by writing a check payable to The Cinnaminson Police Association and indicating “The Frank Rooney Fund” in the memo section.  Donations will also be accepted at the Breakfast with Santa event on Sunday December 11, 2016 located at the Merion Caterers.  Thank you for your kindness and support.

This is Jill Rooney, Frank's wife, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who reached out, shared this or sent a donation. I am overwhelmed with the response and so grateful for the support. So many of you I don't even know sent a note or reached out to us. I never in my life thought I would be in this position of losing Frank. Our family is heartbroken. I just want to say thank you again to each and every one of you.

:( Aww, So sorry for the loss. It's always hard to lose someone even when it's sudden. Prayers, positive thoughts and healing/good vibes being sent to the family and the community's.. Just gotta remember to be strong and continue to do good because that's what kind of person he probably was and would probably want everyone to continue to be good etc. Sometimes to be strong, we must think of the things of the person would want us to do and live on by things that they said or have wanted to be done. May he Rest In Peace and Thank you for helping and keeping our community's safe when you were alive. And thank you to those who continue to keep us safe etc. ♥ My sincere condolences for the family.

I didn’t think this gift card was going to work since it declined a lot of things despite it’s a visa gift card etc. Nonetheless I plan to donate more soon. I shall be getting more gift cards and hopefully I’ll have enough money leftover on each one I get because I would really like to accomplish reaching this goal for the CPD since they’ve always been a non biological family to me since a very young kid since years throughout my life. I hold them all close to my heart. I fully support law enforcement, also this year is not about gifts, it’s about the gift of giving that doesn’t come in bags, boxes etc. Especially around Christmas time. May God bless you all and Saint Michael the Archangel protect everyone as well. I’m not about material things. Especially around holidays. It’s about being kind to one another, helping others in need etc. I’m still needing an urgent miracle myself but I think god wanted me to donate tonight as a process as he’s working on my miracles in regards to a really bad situation that time is literally running out in just days this month. Nonetheless, god is good. I am trying to get others to donate as well. Hopefully whoever gets notifications of any of donations being donated that they recognize me such as the CPD. I don’t really know about anything in regards to this donation funding website however I hope the CPD sees my donation and knows I will be donating more hopefully sooner than later. Merry Christmas, be safe, buckle up when on the road etc. Hugs and be safe. Stay in school. God is good. Etc etc. Amen.
