Hi! I have started a Blessing Box campaign here in Bakersfield to help others who may be in need. I heard about Blessing Boxes on the national news and how they have been started all over the United States. I felt something in my heart that got me inspired! The funds from this GoFundMe will be used to keep our Blessing Box filled and I expect that $1,000.00 will keep it stocked for a month. I’m also happy to accept donations of non-perishable foods and toiletry items.
My husband made the box; it's the size of a small refrigerator and has three shelves with plenty of room for non-perishable foods as well as toiletries like bars of soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Our first Blessing Box will be located on the grounds of First Congregational Church at Stockdale Highway and Real Road and it will be accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It is a dream of mine to help others - just like others helped me when I was the one in need. Bakersfield is my home and that’s where I can make a difference, starting in my neighborhood and growing from there. My hope is that those who are blessed today will be a blessing to others when they are able.
