Foster Parent Recruitment Campaign

Foster Parent Recruitment Campaign for Ashtabula County

County children services agencies are faced with a dilemma. The Opioid crisis is creating an overflow of foster kids, and they don’t alway have enough certified foster parents to take care of these needy children.

Problem is, county children services agencies simply don’t have the marketing skills or the time to create an effective recruitment campaign to attract more quality foster parents.

So working together over the past several years, Dan and I have used our experience and skills as advertising creative professionals to  develop a complete recruitment campaign to help county children agencies like Ashtabula attract more foster parents from their own counties.

Why is attracting more foster parents who live in Ashtabula County so important?

Our friend, Tania Burnett, Director of Ashtabula County Children Services, explains: “Since we don’t have enough foster parents for our kids, we have to contract with private foster companies. This typically costs our county twice as much per child, sometimes even more. Plus, the child will be placed in a home outside of his or her home county—away from the community they know, away from their school and their friends, and further away from our caseworker. That’s why it’s crucial we attract more foster parents from our own county. This recruitment campaign will give us the help we really need."

We’ve done all we can. Now, we need your help.

Your donation will help pay for:
—Customizing the campaign elements with Ashtabula County Children Services identification.
—The media planner we hired to create and implement a customized recruitment marketing plan for Ashtabula County.
—The cost to purchase media for one year, including: digital, billboard space, printing literature, social media, TV and radio.

Some of the marketing pieces available to use for this "complete coverage" campaign.

As a result of your donation, more kids (who’s lives have been disrupted enough already) will get to remain in their home county where they are most comfortable, with their caseworkers closer by to them.

The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner we can begin setting the campaign in motion and attracting more good foster parents.

Any donations over the goal will go into a special Ashtabula County Children Services fund, which is used to purchase Christmas gifts for the foster children.
