During a high speed police chase on Monday, June 11, 2018, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, three siblings (2, 3 & 4) were injured when the car being pursued jumped the curb at an Elementary School and plowed through grass, a tennis court and a basketball court to land tangled in a swing set. The Peltier children were playing with their dad and as the car came barreling towards them Lilly (4) was hit and suffered from blood on her brain and Konner (3) was knocked around as well. Lilly and Konner were given MRIs, CAT scans and ultra sounds and were finally found stable and have been allowed to go home. However, Kayden (2) is still in critical condition with many injuries.

The Peltier grandchildren are very lucky to have Tim Brinkley and August Brinkley as their grandparents.   Tim had to suddenly leave work in order to attend to this very serious occurrence with these precious children.

We are starting the Go Fund Me to help ease the travel expenses for his grandparents, who travelled from California, during this horrific emergency to be with their beloved children and grandchildren and for the day to day travel and living  expenses that crop up during hospital stays. We would also like to help Kayden, Lilly and Konner's mom and dad pay for some of the hospital expenses, so that they can concentrate on just helping their babies heal.

The following message is from Tim Brinkley...
Kayden was released from the hospital to go home with mom & dad (our daughter Nicolle & son-in-law Kyle), but he still has to wear the halo and is unable to walk. He's able to sit in a wheelchair and eat solid foods, so that will help Nicolle to meet his daily needs. He also suffered traumatic brain injury, but is now starting to say more words and recognize family. She's transporting him for rehab and therapy to 3 separate specialist now thru the week for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, so his long road to recovery has begun. Little Lillie (who was in critical condition the first 3 days) is doing well despite her injuries (thank God!) and is here in CA with our granddaughters Jullie & Ellie, too for spiritual healing.

We wanted you all to know how much we appreciate all of your prayers and support for our grandchildren's healing and continuing recovery; it has definitely made a difference in our lives and renewed our sense of hope in the power of love - - Thank you so much!

Tim writes...Yesterday was big, the lead nurse, Ashley, decided that Kayden was able to have his feeding tube removed! That lends so much to his comfort (and ours), and thru the course of the day he was able to respond "yes" & "no" to different questions. He's still weak, but growing stronger.

We are all still keeping a close watch on Kayden, he is a fighter. He has been moving his left leg & arm more, & I think the OT coming in and working with him has been helping. He hasn't been talking at all, so we're hoping he has something to say-- whatever it is, I'm sure it will be worth the wait

June 19,2018 news from Tim Brinkley about Kayden...doctors and specialists have been in and out thru the day, checking up on little Kayden & briefing us on his condition. Also an OT worked with his arms a little bit, & promised to bring toys. Good news today is that an SLP introduced both apple juice & apple sauce to him (a whole ounce)! He liked it--God is good
