On Tuesday's and Thursday's I volunteer to tutor at the AventWest Children's Mentoring Program. This is an after school tutoring program for elementary and middle school aged students in the AventWest Community who are academically at-risk of failing. At this program we work on reading, math and writing.
After talking to the coordinator, Anne Neuenschwander, most of the children are on a free or reduced lunch program at their school and then are provided snacks at the tutoring program. When they leave for break a lot of kids will not have much food to eat at home so I want to start a gofund me to get donations for food. With the money raised I will go to the local grocery store with Anne and purchase food and snacks for the children to have over their winter break.
Every cent and dollar counts so if you can only donate $1 please do. I came to love and care for all of these kids and want to do my best to support them and make them happy. They are all AMAZING children and deserve the world. I would be so thankful for every donation received and it will all go to a great cause!! Thank you!
