Floral Hills Memory Gardens

$2,550 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 40 people in 9 months
As we look out over the Flags set for our resting Military, out over the Markers of our loved ones....we see hope and fellowship in bringing together a community to help when Floral Hills Memory Gardens has been neglected and unkept, we look for others to fix what we see, we look to others to do what needs to be done. Somewhere we as a society have lost a part of our common decency and moral character. We have shown thru the help of all the volunteers here...that we can stand up when we are pushed down, we can stand together when times are tough. we will demand that our leaders and state officials listen to our voices. We will look past the roadblocks and continue our fight, we will look past those who choose to ignore and we will proceed. There will always be something in the road trying to slow you down....it's what you do when you come upon this delay that will determine who you are. Thank you to all the volunteers that load up their mowers throughout the year, thank you to all those that continue to help everyday in what they are able to do. We will get better, we will be heard....nothing this big is ever easy, nor able to fix overnight. Stand together and strong and help us rise again. Thank You for your help.

We have spent the last 5 yrs trying to maintain our Cemetery here in Chillicothe, We hope to continue to improve the upkeep of the grounds and in order to continue and better maintain,  we are now requesting funds to purchase:  2 commercial grade zero turn mowers, 2 pushmowers, 1 addtl weedeater and a trailer to haul the equipment. All items purchased with donated funds will be donated to whom ever legally takes over operations of the Cemetery and secures a license through the Ohio Dept of Commerce for continued operations. If we do not reach our goal we will purchase whatever equipment possible with the money raised beginning with zero turn mowers, which is our greatest need. Thank you for your support in this next phase of our journey!!

It started 5 yrs ago with this mower bought by this man. It was already past it’s run expectancy....but he wanted to help with the grass mowing here at Floral Hills and said it was OK to use (knowing it wouldn’t last Long mowing that much and the abuse it takes on the uneven ground and constant turning ). All the dealers were amazed it was still running every time we went in for new blades...but it kept mowing. He passed away after the first year of mowing and the mower kept going. For over 3 yrs it mowed most of Floral Hills with help now and then. Over a year ago we thought it was finally done, it quit moving and figured it was probably the end. But a new drive belt and some adjustments here and there and it’s back mowing again this year. You can believe or chose to mark it up as chance....but I think this little mower is trying to keep going, to continue to fight the grass, until we can get one to replace it. There’s no explanation of why it still runs...it just does. We hope it holds on while we raise funds to get new mowers, to continue to support the efforts here at Floral Hills. Thank you Little Red for all you have done and continue to do.

Our lineup isn’t pretty, nor is it very new (except our weedeaters !). It’s held together with whatever we can get. We are blessed with help to mow but are in a dire need for better equipment. Please help if you can. We had 3,216 people view our clean up post this year...if we could get just $5 from each one we could reach our goal to better equip our volunteers in the quest of maintaining our Cemetery. Please help if you can and Thank you for your consideration.
