On August, 28 at 8 AM, over 160 immigrant workers were forcibly taken by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Paris, Texas while they were working to provide for their families at Load Trailers, LLC.

Homeland Security Investigations, the investigative agency of ICE, claims the raid is an attempt to target “abusive employers,” but over 160 immigrant workers have been detained and are now separated from their families.

The Iglesia Evangelica Filadelfia of Paris is among the first responders to this community crisis and is fundraising to provide legal and financial support to the more than 100 families. These families in many cases have lost the breadwinners and are in need of donations to pay basic expenses such as rent, utilities, and groceries as well as legal fees to try to keep their families together.

Please contribute to meet the urgent needs of the immigrant community in Paris, Texas. All donations will be processed by Iglesia Evangelica Filadelfia to ensure they reach the families directly affected by the crisis generated by this horrific workplace raid.

Thank you for your support. I'm writing to let you know that we are going to start distributing funds to families in need on Friday. Rent was due at the beginning of the month for a lot of families, and bills are stacking up.

I wanted to let you know the process we have laid out. I am a member of the Paris community and I am going to be withdrawing the funds in my name. Evangelica Iglesia Filadelfia is going to help me coordinate the fund distribution, by bringing the families together to the church and creating that space for families to come together and seek support. We will be writing checks out to each family from my account, where the funds are being disbursed from GoFundMe.

Please get in touch with any questions and thank you for your support!
