St Leonard's Hospice van theft costs
I'm fundraising to help St Leonard's Hospice cover the costs of having two vans stolen in less than three weeks.
The vans are vital in their retail operation as they help them collect items to be sold to raise funds, deliver items to customers and transport stock between shops and the donation centre.
Although both vans were insured, the insurance only covers some of the costs associated with the theft, and the rest must be topped up from funds that may otherwise be spent on patient care.
St Leonard's Hospice is a York based adult Hospice caring for local people in central York and surrounding areas. They offer In Patient care, Holistic therapies, Hospice at Home care as well as bereavement counselling and support. They receive limited statutory funding but the vast majority of their work is funded through voluntary donations.
