With faith in our hearts, we come to you during one of the most difficult moments our family has ever faced.

On Friday, January 9, 2026, our beloved mother and grandmother, Elba Cabrera de Gonzalez, suffered an unexpected and devastating stroke (brain hemorrhage) while visiting her hometown of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Since then, she has been fighting for her life. Elba is currently in a medically induced coma and has faced several serious complications, including pneumonia and kidney failure. This has been an overwhelming and heartbreaking experience for our entire family.

Unfortunately, she did not have adequate health insurance to cover the extreme medical costs of this emergency, and her U.S. health insurance does not provide coverage outside of the country. What began as an emotional nightmare has also become a tremendous financial burden.

We are asking for help during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical care and the expenses needed to continue her treatment, with the hope of stabilizing her condition and bringing her back to the United States as soon as possible.

Elba is a strong woman and a true fighter. With God’s grace and the support of our community, we are praying she will recover and be reunited with her family very soon. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support.

Con fe en el corazón, acudimos a ustedes en uno de los momentos más difíciles que ha vivido nuestra familia.

El viernes 9 de enero de 2026, nuestra querida madre y abuela, Elba Cabrera de Gonzalez, sufrió un derrame cerebral inesperado (hemorragia cerebral) mientras se encontraba de visita en su pueblo natal, Puerto Plata, República Dominicana.

Desde ese momento, ha estado luchando por su vida. Elba permanece en un coma inducido médicamente y ha enfrentado graves complicaciones, incluyendo neumonía e insuficiencia renal. Esta situación ha sido profundamente dolorosa y devastadora para toda nuestra familia.

Lamentablemente, no contaba con un seguro médico adecuado que cubriera los altos costos de una emergencia de esta magnitud, y su seguro de salud en los Estados Unidos no cubre gastos médicos fuera del país. Lo que comenzó como una tragedia emocional se ha convertido también en una carga financiera muy difícil de afrontar.

Hoy acudimos a ustedes con humildad para pedir apoyo en este momento tan complicado. Cualquier ayuda, por pequeña que sea, será destinada directamente a cubrir los gastos médicos y el tratamiento necesario, con la esperanza de estabilizar su condición y poder traerla de regreso a los Estados Unidos lo antes posible.

Elba es una mujer fuerte, una luchadora incansable. Con la gracia de Dios y el apoyo de todos ustedes, tenemos fe en que podrá recuperarse y volver a estar junto a su familia muy pronto. Gracias de todo corazón por sus oraciones, su solidaridad y su apoyo.
