The Zwedru Orphanage was started after the village in Zwedru was devasted by the Ebola virus. Many people died, many mothers and fathers, many sisters and brothers. It was a tragedy. The village was stricken with grief and dozens of children were left as orphans without family members to look after them.

The orphanage is run by Eliana and her husband. They take care of around 35 children and 10 widows.

Life is hard, but the simplest things are the most valuable. A roof over your head, eating nutritious food, having clothes and shoes, going to school.

Eliana needs help not just to take care of these children but also to secure their future. They have used some of your donation money to buy a building and land on which they can live and grow food. But there are always more children in need, so they are looking to extend the building to make more room.
