As most of you know, I was in a bad accident July 29th 2023. I lost my left leg above the knee, shattered my pelvis and severed my spine along with many other injuries. This accident has left me paralyzed and unable to do what I loved. What most of you don't know is that 2 weeks after I was released from rehab, newly paralyzed and still trying to figure out what life will now look like, my "fiance" took a 10 thousand dollar grant that was given to me, her cats and my son and moved back to her parents house while I was at a union meeting. I really do understand why she left. This isn't a life I wanted for her or my son but it is the only life I have now. As much as it all hurt me it was what followed that has left me at a loss for words. For months following their departure I begged my ex to let me see my son, begged her not to make me take this to court. All of my pleas fell on deaf ears. I spent the last 8 thousand dollars I had saved to get a lawyer. Since then, I have been able to see my son. However, my ex continues to make this far more difficult than it needs to be. I was dropped off by ambulance from rehab at the apartment complex I currently live. I never saw this building. My good friend gave my ex a check for 20 grand of my money to find a place for us as a family. This is the building she chose. I had to go to court on Thursday the 4th because she claims this buling isn't "child friendly". The building she chose.. this back and forth over nothing has made my attorney fees reach 30 thousand dollars. I have never asked for help because if I ever needed it I knew I could go out and do whatever it is I needed to be done. Now that I'm paralyzed that aspect of life is a lot harder. Making me depend on the 2800 a month I get from disability. I was making that weekly before my accident. I had to ask my mother and brother to move in with me to help me with rent, rides, meals, just about everything. That alone eats me alive, I'm fighting tears just typing this. I love my son more than anything and would never put that boy in harms way. I can't have an overnight with him unless he has his own room which means leaving where I currently live. That isn't a problem, the problem is getting my wheelchair to fit other places. We have been looking endlessly and though we have found a few places, they require first, last and security. Im asking for any help I can possibly get to dig me out of the hole I've found myself in. Thank you so much in advance
