Amjad, Rahat and their 7 kids supported US forces during the US war overseas. Amjad served as a special operations soldier and left Kabul with the rest of the Afghan citizens who had aided Americans during the fall of the city in August 2021. For the past 2 years, Amjad has worked and lived in North Carolina where he and Rahat have made alot of progress: 6 of the 7 children are in school and learning English, Rahat obtained her driver's license and Amjad worked three jobs to support his family. Now, they are moving to Maryland to be closer to their family members who have settled in MD. Our North Carolina community has done a lot to support the move and we are ready to see them off but due to Amjad's lack of credit and rental history, we have a large security deposit to make for the apartment.
