Why Hygiene Kits?
During this pandemic, cleanliness and safety are especially important – so we are raising funds to provide hygiene kits for the homeless! We surveyed multiple homeless shelters in the Bay Area and they told us that their greatest unmet need is hygienic supplies.
All proceeds of this fund will go towards buying, assembling, and distributing small hygiene kits. Each kit will consist of the following:
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Hand sanitizer
- Masks
- Packet of wet wipes
We are partnering with HomeFirst and LifeMoves shelters, and we hope to supply them with hygienic supplies monthly.
How Can You Help?
Please donate however much you can, and we will make sure the kits get to the people who need it most! One kit can go a long way: for the price of one Starbucks Venti Frappuccino, the basic hygiene needs of a homeless person can be covered for up to a month.
$6.50 can help a person for a month.
$65 can help 10 people for an entire month.
Who Are We?
Our names are Charlotte Yao and Nikhil Berry, and we are two sophomores at Menlo School in Northern California. We started an organization called GivingLane to help the community by providing what people need the most. If you would like to know more about our initiative––or if you have any questions––feel free to contact us below!
