For Cisco (in Tika's memory)

Very sadly, as many of you may now know, Tika (Maria) sadly passed away on Monday 30th June at the Homerton Hospital. Surrounded by family and friends.

Thank you so much for all the generous donations. Tika was extremely touched and appreciative. Any more recent donations received I am passing on to Fernando, to support Cisco and the family during this terrible time.

As you may be aware, Tika has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer. She has had a major operation, for which she has had multiple readmissions. She is now building up her strength ready to undergo chemotherapy. This can be gruelling; as well as being exhausting lots of extra appointments, scans and tests are required during the chemo.

Fernando too has had recent health issues requiring hospital appointments.

Cisco, in addition to studying and working part-time, has been supporting them both, not least in attending appointments in order to translate.

Over the next few months the family need to focus on supporting Tika through her treatment. There are many stresses to diagnosis and treatment of cancer, not least financial in the context of being self-employed.

Please contribute to this collection: we shall pass on what we raise to Tika to help Cisco, his studies or spend however she deems best.
