Zoe Barber-Action Ireland Volunteer - Lesotho 2024
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Zoe Barber.
I am fundraising to travel to Lesotho with Action Ireland Trust as a volunteer, with my school Portmarnock Community School.
Lesotho is a small African country experiencing poverty, where people lack access to essential resources such as safe housing, education, clean water and sanitation. AIDS is also a major problem experienced by the population due to a lack of health education and health resources.
We are a group of 4th Year Students, teachers and construction workers who will be taking part in building accommodation and working with children who live in poverty.
While there, we will be volunteering across four Primary Schools and one High School, providing workshops in sport, swimming, music and art for the children. We will be sharing our culture and experiencing the culture of the people of Lesotho too. We hope to make a positive and lasting impact on their community and know they will make a lasting impact on us.
Any funds donated will support this volunteer work and will make a huge difference for the people of Lesotho.
I am taking part in various fundraising activities and all donations are very gratefully received.
Thank you!
