ZM KKG Alumni Fund

Hello KKG sisters,

Now that the 2019-2020 school year is in full swing, I’m reaching out with a brief update on our Zeta Mu chapter, as well as to ask for your help as an active Alumni group.

ZM officers and all Actives have been working diligently through steps in their Action Plan and are making the necessary strides to meet and exceed all objectives in the Plan. They are in communication with appropriate National and Lambda District personnel, as well as getting support from their ZM Advisor volunteers many of whom are ZM Kappa Alumni including Kelly (Fowler) Nylund '90, as the New Member Advisor, and Linda Eddy '88, as the Finance Advisor.

A near term focus for the chapter is to knock formal recruitment out of the park in January 2020 and welcome a fantastic, quota-full class of new members.

This is where we come in, and why I am asking for your help today in donating to a newly created GoFundMe page. The ZM Treasurer, with advice from Linda, had to make some tough line-item reductions to get the chapter’s budget back in alignment and keep dues at a reasonable level for this school year. Consequently, this has directly impacted availability of extra funds. By making a donation, we will help to financially strengthen their recruitment budget and support the chapter to be as competitive as possible with other sororities. These funds will also benefit the chapter for related, longer-term endeavors.

Linda has worked with current ZM officers to compile a wish list of needs not currently covered in their budget. We plan distributions to the chapter beginning in October 2019 starting with dispersion of funds to the Membership Committee for a professionally made recruitment video.  Additional distributions will occur throughout Fall 2019 and into January 2020 to the Standards Committee, New Member Committee, and Marshall to support Bid Day celebrations, on-going Sisterhood awards and team building events, and augment supplies needed for initiation.  A donation of any amount will help us to achieve our goal of helping our Zeta Mu Chapter (for your information per Nationals), Actives are not allowed to directly solicit donations.

We are additionally looking for Alumni volunteers, willing to head to Blacksburg on occasion to assist our Active sisters during this academic year. Please feel free to contact either myself  or Linda Eddy if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.
