My grandson Jack Thomas was born on Jan 29th a couple of weeks early. He weighed in at 5 lbs 13 oz... and is beautiful!

However, within about an hour post-birth his blood sugar was critically low and he had to be placed in NICU. This was the beginning... next, his temp dropped, then his liver function tested abnormally and he continued to deteriorate... more issues followed including low platelets and poor clotting ability.

Today he is 10 days old and we still have no answers and no change. He is in acute liver failure and on his way to CHOP! But we still don't know what is wrong with him. They are looking at so many possibilities but thus far nothing has been defined. We pray CHOP can figure out why he is in liver failure and turn this around!

We are grateful to all the nurses and Doctors at Hackensack Meridian, Jersey Shore University Hospital and all they have done to this point.

The expense associated with the travel to Philadelphia and room/board for Caity and Chris with no idea how long this will be the case is a worry they do not need at this time. I am reaching out on their behalf for anything folks can give to help them over the next couple of months as they make their way through this journey with Jack.
