Eden's Mitzvah Project
Donation protected
Dear Family & Friends,
When I was five years old, I had my tonsils out at Lurie Children's Hospital and I had to stay overnight. After my surgery, I was lucky enough to receive a bag of craft supplies from the Child Life Department. This small gesture put a HUGE smile on my face and kept me busy all day, as crafting is one of my favorite hobbies. I learned to appreciate the value of giving a small, yet meaningful gift to kids when they are sick, especially when they are in the hospital.
For my Mitzvah Project, I will be riding in a 10 mile "Cycle-A-Thon" with my family and friends. Part of the money raised from the sponsorship will be used to purchase the materials so that I can make "coping bags" which includes a variety of crafts for pediatric oncology patients at Lurie Children's Hospital.
The rest of the funds will be donated to Dancing While Cancering, an organization which provides Smile Packs to young hospital inpatients newly diagnosed with cancer, giving them the same pleasure and HUGE smile that I experienced.
That is why, instead of a gift, I would greatly appreciate your donating to this cause.
Thank you for being part of my Bat Mitzvah.
Love, Eden
