Hi my name is Selina and my husband is Bryce, we have a beautifull baby girl, Addison.

Addison was born January 22 of 2021, sadly her twin brother Jaxson did not get to meet this world.

At 33 weeks I began having Braxton Hicks contractions, which are normal but I felt something was off. I knew I was a high risk pregnancy, having type 1 diabetes and a twin pregnancy, during my pregnancy I was so careful and did everything by the book. I couldn’t risk doing anything wrong. So the minute I felt that something was wrong with my babies I went to the hospital where I was scheduled for a C-section when I would have been 37 weeks. I was admitted, and monitored closely, but the doctors tried to send me home twice, I fought to stay because I knew there was still something wrong. After a week in the hospital and showing all the symptoms of diabetic keto Acidosis (DKA) none of my doctors, nurses, specialists or anyone could diagnose me. When they finally did it was to late for our baby boy. We would have given anything to turn back time and be able to save him.

The time I spent in the hospital I barely remember I was in and out of consciousness but Bryce remembers it all he remembers seeing his whole world circling the drain losing his son and almost losing his wife and daughter. Right before they performed the emergency C-section on me they had to resuscitate me. I am fortunate enough to not remember any of this but Bryce remembers it every day. It was the worst day of our lives.

The hardest part of all of this is now knowing that my condition wasn’t as rare as we were told and that if we had been given the right doctor I would have been diagnosed in time to save both of our babies.

we love our daughter and we keep pushing through every day because of her and because of our family and the support system that we have. But financially we are struggling, I am not able to go back to work yet and Bryce has been struggling with PTSD anxiety and depression all stemming from almost losing everything. I have been struggling gaining control of my diabetes Postpartum and with no insurance coverage my medication almost unaffordable. We are asking for help with everyday life expenses, We are asking for assistance in anyway or amount that you may be able to help us we just want to be able to provide a beautiful life for our family.
