WHAT YOUR HELP CAN PROVIDE:

·      $5000 will pay the rent on our small hotel for 1 month
·      $2000 will pay one of our Ukrainian workers for one month
·      $1000 will pay the utility bill on the hotel for 1 month
·      $500 will pay the monthly rent for a residential apartment to house up to 8 people
·      $280 will buy enough groceries to feed two people for one month
·      $150 will buy a mattress/sheets/blanket/towels set up for a new bed space
·      $75 will provide a new arrival with basic supplies such as toiletries, toys and diapers for their kids, necessary clothing, food or other supplies for their pets, SIM cards for their phones, or over-the-counter medications
·      $35 will buy enough groceries to feed one person for a week

Our initial projected monthly operating costs were $34,573 to operate 74 bed spaces.  With more funds we can expand the number of people we can house, feed and supply.

WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE:
  • Move fast: There is lots of real estate still empty from the pandemic, and we can lease it quickly on flexible terms. It took three days from our first donation to lease our first property.
  • Limit Overhead: All of our start-up costs have been paid or donated. Volunteers are helping with all labor needs, plus two refugees we have hired to provide translation and services to the guests. Every new donation goes straight into housing, food, and supplies.
  • Scale Up: Our first $100k established 74 beds for as many as 120 people per night for three months. But there is more available real estate in Krakow, outlying areas and nearby towns.
WHAT WE OFFER:
  • Dorm-style accommodations for immediate arrivals: We offer new arrivals a dorm bed on a short-term basis.
  • Private rooms or apartments for medium-term residential accommodation: For those with nowhere to go in the short term, we can offer residential housing for stays of roughly a week up to 3 months.
  • Assistance with immediate needs: On arrival, we quickly assess their needs: Are they hungry, thirsty or need medical attention? Do they have somewhere to go or nowhere? Do they have family inside or outside of Ukraine they are trying to connect with? Do they need minimal assistance like helping them organize a train journey to another destination or connect to NGO services or other organizational support? Or do they have nothing and need longer-term support?
  • Food & supplies: We can provide groceries, preparation, or catering for three meals a day. We can also purchase basic supplies such as toiletries, clothing, toys and diapers for small children, and supplies for those traveling with pets.
For corporate contributions or major individual gifts, or if you have any questions, please message me directly.  A detailed budget is available for your review.

All funds raised will be passed through directly to our partner non-profit in Poland, Fundacja (Foundation) Zero Camps, dedicated to the goal of ensuring no refugees will have to live in tent camps and will have a real roof, a real bed, and plenty of food.
