As some of you may know, on Wednesday July 1, Zeff sustained severe burns in an accident. He is currently recovering at the Cook County Hospital Burn ICU. The good news is that he will fully recover, he's surrounded by family and friends when possible, and he's in good spirits. The harder news is that doctors expect it to be a long road involving a lengthy hospital stay, invasive procedures, surgery, and a lot of rehab.
Zeff sustained these injuries in the pursuit of his dream: To one day open a brick & mortar restaurant from his pop-up: Roger and Rose Tikki Tavern. The next few months will require Zeff to pour all of his energy into recovery. And because of the capitalist hellscape we currently live in, he is going to need financial support to cover his lost wages, unexpected bills, and to allow him and his wife Abby to remain focused on what's important.
If you know Zeff, you know that the thing he loves most is taking care of others. If he's ever made you a delicious cocktail with handmade components, poured you a home-brewed beer, crafted you a bespoke Chemex coffee, cooked you a holiday meal, or made you laugh, now's the time to step up and help take care of him.
If you don't know Zeff, you should know that he is a generous person who cares deeply about his community. He works harder than just about anyone I know, and he doesn't deserve to let this roadblock derail his dream. Any amount you can donate is deeply appreciated and will make a difference.
