Save the Schoolhouse

Hi Friends, the Schoolhouse Cultural Center is very dear to me. It has brought together our community and shown us the world in stories,  dance performances, and art. It soothes our aching hearts with wonderful music and makes us laugh with stories from around the world.

Today, the Schoolhouse is hurting. We are not getting the volunteers we need, we are scarily low in the bank account, and we have no grant funding. I know all of this will change, but we need to tell you that we are not well. The funds will be used for the building maintenance, insurance, event programming, and payroll. Proving to our current staff and board that we have something special with our rural arts center will provide the staff and current Board (of which I am a member) that we CAN thrive.

The Schoolhouse has "been in the black" all these years: we've paid our bills, staff, and performers. But if we don't get some cash for our upcoming lean months then we will need to borrow money from our endowment fund, which we have never have had to do and exists so that future generations can play and perform in the old Schoolhouse.

I only make about $12,000 per year and I donate every month to the Schoolhouse and other non profits that are important to me. I know that you do too! So please join me to carry the Schoolhouse into the future so our children and grandchildren can be apart of our living history.

I would be so thankful to be able to see the Schoolhouse thrive, in fact, this will be my 42nd birthday wish. I'd love to see our campaign to reach $25,000 but let's start with $2,500 today. Thank you so much for your help by volunteering, sharing this donation, renewing your membership and attending our high-quality events.
