Walking down the aisle, we knew it was likely that I (Becca) would not be able to safely carry a child to term. After seeing multiple specialists and doctors, they confirmed what we had suspected and together we decided that the substantial risk to both my life and our potential baby's life was just not worth the risk. Before we got married, I had a Tubal Ligation to eliminate the risk entirely. We know we made the correct decision, but that doesn't make the process any easier. After our first year of marriage we began the journey towards having a baby. God has opened some incredible doors for us in the past year and He led us down this path to surrogacy. It has been quite the journey so far, but we now have three healthy embryos frozen at NCFMC (fertility clinic) in Sacramento. We are just waiting for God to bring us the incredible woman who will carry our baby (our DNA) and help us become a family of three.
Unfortunately, this is all an incredibly expensive process. Between Follicle Stimulating Medications (for both women), Multiple Tests, A Specialized Clinic (out of the area with travel), Egg Collection, Embryo Creation, Genetic Testing, Implantation, Pregnancy/Birth Expenses, Lawyers, Clinic Fees, Medical Clearance Fees, etc… There are quite a few mini procedures each with their own set of costs. Our insurance covers zero dollars of “infertility” treatments so unfortunately, no help there. We are looking at grants and other financial relief to help us out, but we also know the incredible power of community and we believe this is what it means to do life together. We understand that everyone is enduring hardships right now due to COVID-19 but if you can help in any way, we will be forever grateful in a way that words could never express! This will be a fundraiser that lasts for months (this will be a long process) so If you can’t help now, there will be chances down the road..but mostly we just appreciate you taking the time to read our story and if you have any questions we are open books. We appreciate all of our friends and family so much and we can’t wait to see how God directs and leads this journey. We likely have a long road ahead of us to growing our family, but we are so very thankful and blessed to be supported by such an amazing community of people. We love you so much!
