Contrary to how the video implies, our intention to run the manchester marathon came out of a drive to do something positive for a charity very close to our hearts. (Although this does not discredit how much we originally underestimated the feat).

Will:

At the start of the Year my Dad decided to no longer continue with chemotherapy after undergoing treatment from the Christie since late 2019. After this, I wanted to do something positive and raise money for a charity that provided us with so much support throughout this time.

Jordan has always been very close with my family so after talking to him about how my Dad's illness was progressing he was instantly on board. After a fair few drinks and some questionable alternative suggestions, we came to the idea of running the Manchester marathon.

I wanted to rope Adam into this, as he has been an incredible support and holds the Christe very dear to his heart.

Adam :

After Will called me while I was working and only half aware of the conversation, he was able to get me to agree to run a marathon. After fully realising what I had agreed too, I couldn’t not go for it as I would be running for such a great cause as the Christie’s.

The Christie’s Hospice is dear to me, as back in 2016 they were so supportive during my mum’s time with cancer, with her eventually succumbing to her illness in 2018.

So I will be running the marathon in her memory and raising money for those who are going through what I did.

Jordan (A man of few words):

When will told me that his dad was had decided to stop his chemotherapy it got us talking about how to help everyone with any form of cancer. This eventually led to us deciding running a marathon wouldn't be too hard to do. Hopefully, we will raise some money for Christie's charity and help others.
